Forget everything you’ve ever heard about deer meat – forget tough, and definitely forget gamey. Instead, think tender, mild, and flavorful New Zealand Venison. Our red deer and Cervena venison meat comes from family-owned farms, raised humanely and free-range in the pristine pastures of New Zealand. Never given hormones, antibiotics or any genetically-engineered feed, and always fed on grass (with supplements of hay during the winter) our New Zealand venison meat is as natural as nature intended it to be. You’ll discover a truly tender texture, and a pleasantly flavorful but never gamey meat. Plus, it’s a healthy alternative to other red meats, with 1/5 of the fat of comparable beef cuts, and more protein, vitamin B and iron. All of our venison comes from New Zealand red deer, raised in the same small farms, under strict guidelines, and our Cervena Venison brand comes from deer exclusively under 3 years old, and reserved for the most premium steaks and cuts.
