The Muscovy duck is the Rolls Royce of poultry. Long favored by Europeans, it’s fast becoming the first choice duck in the US, and with good reason. The whole Muscovy duck is not only juicy and delicious, it’s also the leanest domesticated duck breed available. Its breast consists of 99% lean meat, while the skin contains 50% less fat than the Moulard or Pekin breeds. Each of these whole Muscovy duck hens is barn-raised using zero steroids, antibiotics or growth hormones. They’re fed a balanced, natural diet that’s carefully measured to imbue the meat with the best possible flavors and texture.
Once cooked, the meat is tender and falls right off the bone. Incorporate it into a number of classic duck dishes, such as Duck à l’Orange, Duck Leg Confit or Cured Duck Pot-au-Feu.
Every one of our whole Muscovy duck hens was raised by Grimaud Farms, whose parent company, Groupe Grimaud, has been raising Muscovy ducks since 1965. They offer a range of different sized ducks, including 4 lb hens and 7.5 lb drakes, and all their products are vacuum-sealed for freshness. All raw products should be used within a week, or may be frozen.
